Etherische oliën (ook wel aromatische of essentiele oliën genoemd) worden gewonnen uit plantaardige bestanddelen zoals bloemen, zaden, wortels, boomschors of hout. De aromatische vloeistof wordt door middel van stoomdestillatie eruit gehaald. Essentiële olie is in tegenstelling tot parfumolie helemaal natuurlijk. De oliën van Chi zijn ook nog eens 100% zuiver en onverdund.
Etherische oliën zijn positief voor lichaam en geest. Zo worden ze bijvoorbeeld ingezet bij aromatherapie. Elke soort etherische olie heeft zijn eigen specifieke geurbeleving en werking.

Addition to a bath or foot bath
Ethereal oil as an addition to a bath or foot bath is particularly pleasant. The combination of bath water with ethereal oils is doubly relaxing. However, never drop the ethereal oil pure into the water. Oil does not mix with water and floats on the surface. This can cause skin irritation when in direct contact with the skin.
The ethereal oil must be made soluble in water. Therefore, always use a neutral bath oil or emulsifier to make the oil soluble. The combination of ethereal oil, plant oil, or emulsifier ensures that the oil dissolves well and is safe for the skin. Additionally, your skin becomes supple and soft due to the extra bath oil and does not dry out from the warm water.
Dosage
- Dosage for a bathtub: max 10-15 drops in 10 ml neutral bath oil.
- Dosage for a foot bath: a few drops (max 5) in 5 ml neutral bath oil.
Mix the ethereal oil in a small dish with the neutral bath oil before use, then add to the water.
For children:
3-12 years: 5-10 drops in 10 ml bath oil
up to 3 years: 1 drop in 2.5 ml bath oil
Do not use for babies under 3 months.
